About the School of Engineering
UBC Okanagan Campus:
The UBC School of Engineering has witnessed incredible growth since its creation in 2005. The number of undergraduate students enrolled within the School of Engineering has increased to 990 students as of 2015. All three undergraduate programs are fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. Likewise, the number of graduate students enrolled in Master’s and Doctoral studies has risen to more than 165 at present. The undergraduate and graduate engineering programs at UBC’s Okanagan campus attract students from around the world.Along with the growth and success in attracting top-quality students, the School of Engineering has recruited an enviable group of brilliant and energetic professors. Some are world-class leaders in their research fields and all have excellent teaching records.To support the growth of the UBC School of Engineering, a $68-million complex was recently built for the students, faculty, and staff. The 14,500 square-metre Engineering, Management & Education building opened in July 2011. The state-of-the-art facility houses undergraduate laboratories for civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering courses and numerous research laboratories for robotics, structures, electronics, water treatment, lasers, mechatronics, and more. The integrated design for the complex accentuates the multidisciplinary and interactive nature of the UBC School of Engineering.
