Inside the Living Lab: Quik Therm – a high-performance air barrier for greater energy efficiency

Quik Therm is an insulation wall system that is attached to the wooden structure of the home. Thanks to tongue-and-groove connections it can be installed in about half the time than conventional insulation wall systems, saving material and labour cost. In the Wilden Living Lab the whole wall profile will be fitted with sensors, which will show how Quik Therm performs in a real life model.

Watch the Okanagan College students install Quik Therm in the Home of Tomorrow. Derek Snitynsky and Raymond Belanger, both insulation specialists of Quik Therm, give you some insight on the construction and philosophy of this high-performance air barrier. Both were happy to see a young generation of trades people getting to understand “better ways of building buildings”.
